That's the A-word that we haven't been able to say all Lent. I never knew that as a kid. I did notice that we would sing "Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ" instead of Alleluia before the Gospel, I just never knew that the A-word was banished from Ash Wednesday until Easter. But my kids have learned that in school.
So, this morning in mass, when we sang the Alleluia, Aaron looked up at me with a huge smile on his face. He noticed that we were getting to use the A-word again. It's times like this that make it easier to make the monthly payment to that Catholic school.
We spent Easter with my family. Ate a huge breakfast after mass, then hung out at mom's playing games, and the kids watched movies and played (and fought a little, but not too bad). Then the Easter Bunny left WAY too many eggs, and the kids got to hunt. It took them just a matter of minutes to find just about all the eggs (close to 250 in all, spread out over 3 yards). It would have gone even fast if we wouldn't have made the bigger kids wait so that the little ones could have a head start. I figure this will probably be Sadie's last year of being one of the little kids...:(
After the egg hunting, the kids examined their booty. Those big balloons with the rubber bands that you tie to them was the big hit this year. Good job, Easter Bunny! Unfortunately, not all the kids got to be here. Cody is back in the hospital with GI issues again, so please say a pray for him. Not that he would have hunted eggs, but him and his parents weren't there. Also, Jaden, Tyce, and Bayleigh were not here. Everyone was missed! Maybe next year, we can all get together for the hunt. And just to rub it in to those of you who missed...you missed out on some darn good enchiladas!
